This is a series of talks by Swami Narasimhananda of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, explaining the word-by-word meaning of the epic Paduka Sahasram composed by Sri Vedanta Deshikan (1268–1369 CE), the great Vishishtadvaita Acharya in the tradition of Sri Ramanujacharya. Legend has it that Sri Vedanta Deshika composed this epic of 1008 verses in a few hours in the night in the premises of the temple of Lord Sriranganathaswamy in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, as the response to a challenge through competition by a scholar.
The text has been explained in English in the book ‘Sri Padukasahasram of Sri Vedanta Desika by D Ramaswami Iyengar, which has been published by the Kuppuswami Sastri Research Institute.
